About Me

I started my CDL career in 2007 as a school bus driver, but the open road was calling. In 2009, I followed in my dad’s footsteps and became a truck driver. My journey began with Transland out of Springfield, MO, where I honed my skills for six years. In 2014, I took the leap into ownership, buying my first truck—a 2009 Peterbilt 379—and signing on with Landstar. That’s where I got a crash course in self-dispatching, learning the hard way how to find and book my own loads. After a year and a half, I joined Schneider National, where I truly mastered the art of running my own operation within a larger system. By 2018, I had my own 53-foot dry van trailer and transitioned to the spot market with Like Trucking Corp, with the goal of eventually moving into an office role.

As the company grew, so did my responsibilities. I became the safety manager, started dispatching, and took on more of the behind-the-scenes work that keeps drivers moving and profitable. In October 2023, I sold my truck and trailer, officially stepping out of the driver’s seat and into full-time logistics management. Now, I wear many hats—dispatcher, operations manager, load planner, strategist, navigator, and sometimes even counselor. I love what I do because it gives me the same sense of freedom and control as owning my own truck did. More importantly, I get to help drivers navigate the complexities of this industry. I’m not the be-all and end-all of trucking, nor am I a wizard (despite my appearance), but if my experiences can help someone else on their journey, then I’m doing something right. My help is just a call or an email away. Also, if you’re looking for insight, stories, or just a good conversation about trucking, check out my podcast on YouTube.
